Dottie (Joanna Rhinehart), a sharp-tongued, down and out schoolteacher, finds unlikely redemption in the form of an even tougher ten year-old kid, Jamal (Maximus Britton), who disrupts her back yard and her determination to drink herself into a post-divorce oblivion.
Together, they discover that they have secrets in common that are tearing them both apart, and find an unexpected friendship.
